The people who develop the ability to continuously acquire new and better forms of knowledge that they can apply to their lives will be the ‘Movers’ and ‘Shakers’ in our society for the indefinite future.
The onus of sculpting such movers and shakers rests upon the shoulders of the academicians. It is a matter of great pride that MCPS is heading towards imparting holistic education to generation next, taking into account the inexplicable and unpredictable changes in the ever evolving education system.
The need of the hour is to create that ‘sesame effect’ so that the store house of knowledge does not become a burden but a means to the eventful flight of life. The sea of humanity has to be churned to bring forth citizens with indefatigable spirits and invincible calibres. Providing a nurturing environment dedicated to the holistic growth and development of every facet of every child’s innate Multiple Intelligence and crowning their minds with ethics to evolve into ‘socially conscious universal citizens’ is going to be a priority of the school. The mission is to enable the children to cherish the experience called CHILDHOOD.
The institution has taken up the mission to give this experience in a country where Values are timeless, Culture is border less, Art is ageless, Wisdom is boundless and Learning is limitless.
The new millennium has brought in its wake an array of change which was unheard from the ‘stone age’ to the ‘clone age’. Life, today, is on the fast track with gigantic changes in the field of science, technology, management information and communication technology. This situation demands readiness to face the challenges.
There is no more a need of ‘mirror species’ rather the need of the hour is to create and evolve ‘Think Tanks’.
Humanism, the overarching philosophy of our time, translates into the ‘child-centered approach’ in education. In this the child’s need interests, play activities and self-confidence assumes tremendous importance. The child’s education, in terms of pedagogies used, evaluation techniques, curriculum plans, teaching content and technique etc. are greatly influenced by the philosophy of significant educational thinkers and innovators. The child of yonder years was categorized as either male or female and ‘fresh clay’ which represented a definite set of qualities. This compartmentalization no longer remains valid as boys and girls are by and large seen as a generic category and are evaluated in terms of common traits and qualities.
The Child no longer relies on being told about various phenomena. The ‘ICT Age’ (Information, Communication and Technology) has already influenced him when he is ‘for the first time’ inducted into a school. He has his own perspective understanding and often argues before he is convinced. The concept of ‘emotional intelligence’ has gained considerable importance giving emphasis to the quality of the teacher-student relationship in the school.
Based on all the above, the maxim of the school is that the child is the centre of all learning activities. The school provides all, ample opportunities in various spheres of learning, helping the child to emerge as wholesome personality, ready to face the challenges of life.
